On Monday February 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm, which is Veterans Day and
there will not be a troop meeting on that night.
At Fat Cats Bowling Alley and all the information is on the
website:
http://fatcatsfun.com/index.php/locations/westminster-colorado
I have made all the arrangements and here is what Fat Cats Bowling
Alley is going to offer us:
1) The cost is going to be $11.00 per person
2) 2 hours of bowling and includes your shoes
3) A slice of pizza and a glass of pop.
So please, before you come to the bowling alley have a dinner
because a slice of pizza and a glass of pop is only going to be a snack not
dinner!
Other family members of the scouts can also participate in a fun
night of bowling.
I am going to have a sign up sheet at the meeting or you can reply
back to me how many participants want to go bowling and I will put them on the
roster.
In the next couple of days I am going to put the $50.00 deposit
for 20 people and four lanes.
If the number of people are more than 20 people, Fat Cats Bowling
Alley stated that they will put more lanes for us if needed, but I am going to
need final count by a week before or in most cases I would like it earlier so
that I can get a better chance at more lanes for this event. So sign up
early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also I need to have all the funds to me by Monday February 13,
2012, so either pay funds by cash or you can have it taken out of you scout
account.
Thanks and let's have a fun night of
bowling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I t is going to be at the Good Shepard Methodist Church to where we
have are troop meetings.
On Friday February 3, 2012 at 7:00 pm will be the over night
lock-in at the church and Saturday February 4, 2012 we will wake up to having
omelet breakfast which each scout will make their own omelet breakfast, thanks
to Jerry for supplying all the ingredients and the grills. This
time the scouts will be cracking there own eggs. After breakfast we will
clean up the church and go out with Debbie and do the trash pick up for
our 2 hours of community service.
Scouts will need to bring a pillow, sleeping bag and might be wise
that they bring a pad, because they will be sleeping on the church floor.
Scouts can bring games, video games that are rated teen or below,
movies that are rated PG or below and the attitude that they will have fun with
the other scouts that are attending this event.
I also will have a couple of fun events for the scouts to get burn
out that night so I can get some what some sleep at night, which I doubt.
I will have a sign up sheet at the meeting or you can reply back
to me and I will put you on the roster.
Adults if you would like to help that would be great for either
spending the night or to just help for breakfast. Just tell or reply back to
me.
Also I have attached that Lock-in permission slip so please fill
it out and bring it to the night of the event.
Thank and let's get ready to have some fun scouts without your
parents nagging you.

Dear scouts, parents and leaders of Troop 417,
Last spring, Troop 417 created the Chip
Furlong Award as a way to honor the long-term commitment of our former
scoutmaster to our troop and to the scouting movement. Each year, we will
choose a scout who best embodies Chip's commitment to scouting, dedication to
his community and zest for life and award that young man $100 that he can use
for any scouting-related purchase -- that could include dues, summer camp fees,
or even new equipment that can be used on troop outings.
The committee of Troop 417 is now accepting
nominations for this award.
To be considered, a boy should be a leader in
the troop -- not by position, necessarily, but in the way he lives his life. He
should follow the Scout Law and the Scout Oath, and he should be someone other
scouts look up to. He should be positive, someone whose presence makes Troop
417 a better place. Any active scout of Troop 417 is eligible.
Anyone can nominate a scout -- and a boy can
nominate himself.
Please forward your nominations to the troop's
committee by e-mailing them to committeemembers@troop417.com no later
than Nov. 22.
The committee will select a recipient, who
will be awarded the Chip Furlong Award at our December Court of Honor.
If you have any questions, please contact any
committee member.
